Blue light blinking, full tray notification when not full.

***LR3 Connect Only - Please be sure to tap the reset button on the actual unit/control panel after emptying the waste drawer. This step must be done before you try to reset the waste gauge in the app. Failure to reset the unit first will result in the app not responding appropriately. Resetting the actual unit resets the sensors and circuit board and can relay to the app that the drawer has been emptied.***

The following troubleshooting should resolve the blue light blinking while the waste drawer is empty. Once resolved, the unit should consistently recognize when your cat visits and cycle accordingly.

Troubleshooting

Before proceeding, make sure the waste drawer is empty and has a clean waste drawer liner.  Always tuck the bag into the tabs and ensure the bag is not protruding above the drawer and potentially covering the sensors (see image below).

Note: If you are using a dark colored bag, always tuck it into the tabs and ensure the bag is not sticking out and potentially covering the sensors.

STEP 1: Check your DFI Lenses for any obstructions:

Let's check your DFI Lenses for any obstructions:
1. Turn off the unit and unplug the power from the base.
2. Remove the bonnet and the globe.
3. Inspect the top of the base where the globe usually rests. Is there any debris? Small amounts of litter are normal. Clean as needed.
4. Inside the waste opening, there is one clear "lense". Ensure there is no debris ** To clean the lenses, we recommend wiping them off with a soft damp cloth and/or glass cleaner. Do not directly spray the base or DFI lenses. You can clean inside the lenses with a dry Q-Tip. **
5. Re-place the globe and bonnet. *If you have an internal shield/black key assembly on your unit be sure to reset the black key on the back of the globe. Be sure to place this key back into the key slot in the base*

6. Plug the power back into the base.

7. Power the unit on and press Cycle.

Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the unit should be at the Home position displaying a solid blue light.
If the issue persists, you may have to re-calibrate the sensor. See the image and video below

STEP 2: Re-calibrate your Sensor

STEP 3: Further Troubleshooting

  1. Remove the waste drawer and press Cycle.
  2. Press Reset twice to abort the cycle to return the unit Home.
  3. If the unit displays a solid blue light while the waste drawer is removed, make sure there is nothing in the drawer that may be blocking the sensor.
  4. If the drawer is clear, your base needs to be repaired.
  5. Contact customer service to initiate your RMA process. Please inform the customer service agent that you completed these troubleshooting steps in full.  Locate your serial number on the back of the base and have it ready for your service call.

Resetting the app's waste gauge:
